The Hapkido program is based on proficiency in all of the above listed categories. All students practice essentially the same material in all categories from day one, simply adding techniques with time. There are no belt levels, everything is based on proficiency.

After the student has reached a high degree of proficiency and can perform at an acceptable level they can apply to test for 1st degree Black Belt. Higher levels of Black Belt are attained by continued training in the basics as well as new material specific to the belt level.
